Your Impact
When you support the YWCA Harbor Area, you’re helping to provide essential services to women, children, and families in need.
From our career resource and job training programs that help raise household incomes, to our food distribution efforts that serve hundreds of families every week, your contributions directly improve the lives of women and children in need fighting to regain their independence and rebuild their lives. Our affordable child care services ensure that working parents can provide for their families, while our transitional housing will offer safety and support to victims of domestic violence.
Every donation helps sustain programs that empower individuals to build brighter futures!
The Neighborhood
The YWCA Harbor Area serves a diverse community in San Pedro, where many residents face economic and social challenges. With a median household income of $69,019, nearly 11% of the population lacks health care coverage, creating barriers to essential medical services. The area has a significant Hispanic or Latino population (nearly 33,000 people), which underscores the need for bilingual and culturally relevant support services.
These factors make the YWCA Harbor Area’s wraparound services — ranging from transitional housing to affordable child care and food distribution — vital to helping women and families in the community achieve stability and success.
